Autumn Equinox 2020

Autumn Equinox.png

The Autumn Equinox is a time of harvest and gratitude, when day and night are equal in both hemispheres, creating a balance of power across the Earth and within. This empowering balance can be utilised to integrate our learnings from the ideas and intentions we planted at the opposing equinox last Spring.

The Autumn Equinox is a time to connect to our inner strength and start another chapter, releasing past habits, patterns and behaviours that no longer suit us or resonate with our desired way of being. In short, we need to clear out what is holding us back.

We can call on the Large Intestine meridian function, which is active throughout Autumn, to decide what we need to release or retain, discover where we are releasing too much, whether we are hanging onto toxicity, either literally or figuratively, and to clear out the old.

It is a time to move forward with our long and short term plans – What energy can we allow to fall back to our roots and provide richness for our future growth, inspiration and nourishment in all aspects of our lives? The seeds we plant after our clearing out will consolidate and strengthen through the dark of winter and prepare for, and encourage, new growth in Spring.

It is a time to move past an “us versus them” mentality into harmony, integration and consolidation. Remember the connection of all things – As within, so without. As above, so below.

Finally it is a time to celebrate and be proud of our achievements, thank Mother Nature for her earthly abundance and honour our own personal harvests. We can use our lung meridian energy, which is the other meridian function at its height in Autumn to shout, sing, cheer and chant our own praises.

What are you grateful for? What will you give back to the Earth? What are you celebrating this harvest season?
